Media comment: Scottish government investing in junior savers

Monday 26 September 2016

Speaking about announcement from Scottish Government on investing in junior savers, Allison Barnes, Scotland Manager for the Money Advice Service, said:

“We welcome today’s announcement and the positive impact it will have on encouraging young people to save. We know that instilling positive savings habits in children from a young age can have significant benefits in terms of their financial security and how they manage their money in later life.

“Starting to build a savings habit, even at a small scale and from a young age, shows a healthy approach to money management and working with schools and credit unions to raise awareness among young people is a positive step in safeguarding our children’s financial futures.”
