Financial education in Scotland: current and future

Wednesday 28 November 2018

The Money Advice Service (MAS) and Financial Capability Strategy for the UK held a Scottish Financial Education Showcase to share understanding of the children and young people context in Scotland, current research on needs, provision and what works, and our future plans. Partners including University of Edinburgh, RBS and Flintshire Early Years and Family Support spoke about the projects they are running across Scotland in schools and communities and shared what they’ve learned and what impact they are having. MAS also presented the findings from our ground-breaking parenting project ‘Talk, Learn, Do’. This event was held as part of Talk Money Week (12-18 November 2018).

The presentations speak to funders, decision makers and providers of financial education and parenting support about the potential these findings have to make a difference to the financial capability of children and families across the UK.
